Essay on Protecting Families of Domestic Abuse and...

Client population There are several populations that interest me however possible preferences include families that deal with domestic abuse and those who are disabled. Working with families that have experienced domestic violence is an interest because in the past I had friends whose family was dealing domestic violence and the impact could clearly in all members of the family. Seeing the difference that was made by those who worked to help their family made this population a preference. Another population that is a possible preference is are those who are disabled. The interest to help those who were disabled started when a faculty called Edelweiss opened. When living there, there were times that she was not able to drive and much of the driving for her and children was done by me. I was hired and started working the cash register and the dining room. The lessons learned during that time were great; patience, how to deal with difficult customers and not to take insults given personally. This job was held for several years, starting in November of 2006 and ending when summer before the transfer to Ball State in May of 2012. A New Job At The Bay Harbor Yacht Club - 1387 Words

This past summer, I landed a new job at the Bay Harbor Yacht Club. There are three restaurants that were incorporated in the Yacht club; The Lange Center, Quarter Deck, and the Beach House. The Beach House was where I worked at with two others. Together, we accomplished many things for ourselves and the restaurant itself. In order to do that, we had certain unsaid rules that all three of us abided by. At which I will bring up later on. Eventually, we became what you call an activity system. If you do not know what an activity system is; it is groups of people doing work together, who have common motives and processes to achieve those motives. That activity system turned us into a well put together team just through the three months of summer. We had Karl, who was the boss/manager of the kitchen and Josh who was the other person who ran the kitchen with me. Josh and I were not the ones in charge but Karl always made sure that we had say in everything that happened because ultimately, for three people to run a kitchen, you need to all agree on something.
